![]() ![]() It just works so well.įor cons, it feels really flat and with little variation, mostly long roads similar to the Nfs: Hot Pursuit style. The classic beaches+city+desert+summer environment has always been an unbeatable classic in car games history, from Outrun to Test drive Unlimited and forward. It fits perfectly the theme of the game, somehow it reminds me the standard Los Angeles setting which is always working great with these kind of games with funny\summer vibes. Horizon 3 Aussie map feels great and varied, have desert, beach, jungle and a big city. Both good games, but the first give context and try to involve the player, the second is just pure random fun. Playing Horizon 3 and then 4 feels like playing Halflife and then Serious Sam. Horizon 4 feels the opposite, there is little to none emotional involvement and it feels like you are thrown in a playground without a context. It's hard to explain but if I have to make an example, Horizon 3 captures the main theme of the game like the old Nfs Undeground captured the street racing theme. Horizon 3 feels like a real festival, with many HUBS around the map and an incredible summer vibe which fits perfectly the map and theme of the game. I have no played multiplayer so I cannot comment on that. You lost all races! Good job, you won the game anyway! Which is the most awful and unsettling thing I've ever seen in a videogame. Clearly multi-player oriented and pointless for solo-play.Īlso, you arrive last on all races and you still complete the events. Horizon 4 feels dull, the single player content is meaningless, there are no championships other than the seasonal ones and the sense of progression does not exists and it is limited at boring perks which don't give any engagement. Horizon 3 feels so much better than 4, there is a story progression and a lot of things to do, there are dozens of championship which require different cars and promote player creativity by chosing and tuning the right car for each race. Playing with a steering wheel, I have to say that Horizon 4 feels better and more polished, expecially with a more deep force feedback, also some cars feels very weird in Horizon 3, for example old muscle cars. However, playing on PC at 4k 60 fps, I have to say that Horizon 3 still looks the best car game in the market after Horizon 4, and it holds incredibly well. The lighting is more realistic and deep in 4 (excluding winter), while 3 looks more flat, the same applies for some textures, the environments are more detailed and many more objects on screen.Īlso, 3 have more pop-in and minor graphic glitches compared to 4 which feels more polished. Horizon 4 looks better, it's pretty clear the game is newer and the engine refined. ![]() I only discovered the Forza franchise last month: I've spent many hours on both Horizon 3 and 4 and I am struggling to decide which is better.
